Today was a day of blessings and coverings of prayer. FCCers had the chance to pray over all of us this morning at 9am and 11am. It was a true blessing. The team also was able to talk to people one on one about the work we will be doing in just 4 short days. It was a great encouragement to have people respond so well of the call over the team.
It was not only a great time in prayer but the Lord meet the largest need of the team to-date! As of Friday May 7th the team need to still raise $1,347.01 in support. After all the prayers, cookies, flowers, and a few team shirts we started to wrap things up. When it came time to count the funds collected our mouths hit the FLOOR! In our donation box was $1,000.40. God blessed the team with the love and support of everyone at FCC. From each and every team member THANK YOU! We could have never know how God was going to use you all the way He did today and we are so grateful that He did. Thank you for being open to the Holy Spirit and giving with open hearts. Lives will be changed in Kenya so asante sana to each and everyone of you.

10, 9, 8.....
SO time is approaching and prayers are getting stronger, pressure is building and for me my mind is at ease and it is because I know how much God's hand is on this trip. The countdown is approaching with excitement like the beginning of a new year and in thinking this trip is like the countdown of a new year its like Dec. 31th and the clock is at 11:59 pm and there is 10 seconds left and the clock shows 10....9.......people in New York's time square are screaming....8...7....6....people in Paris at the Eiffel tower in anticipation .......5...4...3....2...1 and everyone around the world is excited because a new year has come and what does that mean THAT CHANGE HAS COME!! And thats how i feel about this trip that when we touch down on the grounds of Kenya that change has come for the orphans, the ones on the streets of the slums, the girls putting their lives back together from human trafficking but more important change has come for us who have come to bring change because as we become that light that shines for them they will definitely be the light that shines before us so that we may see their good works and glorify our father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16). I once heard it said that you should make more of an impact on your environment then your environment has on you but in this case i know that is impossible and thats why I'm excited. So i pray my heart is pure, so that i may see God in this trip (Matthew 5:8). I know we are making final plans for the departure and my prayer is that as long as we trust and as long as we commit to the lord in whatever we do our plans will succeed (Proverbs 16:3) and he shall direct our way (Proverbs 3:5-6). So i want to thank everyone for their prayers and has we go to Kenya as a team of 4 physically we go to Kenya as a team of hundreds spiritually.

WOW...Counting Down!!!
I rec'd my shots on Tuesday...now I know what it's like to be a real live pin cushion!
Our team is waiting for the Embassy to return our passports w/our visas added...should
be any day now. On Friday, I received my special Orb Elements water bottle which will
filter up to 200 gal. until the filter needs to be changed. A few weeks ago Cassandra
and Grace went to a Green Event in S.F. and found out all about these bottles. The Military and other huge organizations have been using them for a while now. I'm very
excited to know that I will have access to clean water where ever I go on this trip.
Thanks again to all of you who supported us through all of our fundraising events.
The Luau, the Yard sale, both Homemade Bake sales, the Walk-a-thon, eating on Sundays
at Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant where they agreed to donate 10% of all receipts for
5 weeks. And also many thanks in advance for lifting up our team in prayer from now
until we return on May 31st.
As I prepare for this trip, I've been asking God to prepare my heart and mind. He has
strongly impressed upon me to tell them that no matter what they have experienced or have been through that through Him there can be restoration. So many of these kids
have survived horrible situations and they need to know that they can be set free from
the chains of the past, learn that they do have value and just how much God loves them and that a new start walking in hope and freedom is possible!!! It is biblical for older women to mentor the young women and I am ready...use me Lord, your humble servant.
Until next time,
Leilani

17 days!!
17 days left!! That's my lucky number :) The anticipation is killing me. Luckily today in church we talked about finances, it reminded me today to get sit down and look at that so I'm 100% ready for take off... What am I expecting to get out of this trip is something i get asked ALOT! and too be honest I'm not expecting anything just hope to come back with a better understanding with what it is in life I'm supposed to be doing. I still can't believe I'm leaving the country for so long with no family, a lil overwhelming but I'm ready. I got my shots, we sent out to Washington DC for our Visa's a few weeks ago, once I get that back in the mail then it will be really really really real. I can't wait.
Pray request: finances... I'm struggling with just how to re-budget since I recently quit my job, I'm realizing I can't live the life I'm used to with my new low income. ALSO my little cousin Mariah has been heavy in my heart, so for whatever reasons it may be please keep her in prayer.
